Learn how UBET Leaderboard & the point system works!
Hello, UBettors!
Many UBettors wondered how the points are determined and requested a post on the UBET Leaderboard metric. Today, let’s examine how point systems are calculated!
Note that ranking in the leaderboard is based on the dates at the top left corners. For example, the above example considers dates between Nov 5th — Nov 14th (00:00:00 GMT for both).
We present five stats in UBET leaderboard, which are defined as follows:
Profit — the amount of capital earned from betting
Total Bets — the total amount of bets
Wins — number of wins
Losses — number of losses
Points — the return of investments factored with the number of total bets (see the details below)
The ranking is sorted based on Points. The point factors into account your return on investments and confidence score
The point metric is fundamentally based on the return on your bets, which is independent of your starting capital to ensure fairness. We also need to make sure that your winnings are not a fluke, so we take your number of bets into account.
The return on investment (ROI) is calculated by:
for a given bet.
The confidence is a function of the number of bets. The more bets you place, the more confident we are about your winnings! The fewer bets you placed, the higher chance that your winnings were a fluke!
The confidence score ranges between 0 and 1, and it is represented by the tanh function. The minimum required bets are set by us (typically set to 10). For example, if the minimum required bets=10 then you will need at least 10 bets to get confidence closer to 1.
FAQ
Q1. Why don’t you rank based on total profit?
Note that it is possible that
users can start with different initial capital. You can make larger bets with more money, and
users can transfer their funds from other accounts and collaborate with each other.
In order to prevent both scenarios, we use the return on investments as the root of our point system.
Q2. Can someone transfer money?
Users can transfer money between each other, however, this does not account for measuring your score.
Q3. Why can’t you use the return on investment, and not require confidence?
A user can get a high return on investment from a single lucky bet. The point system is meant to measure your measure how accurate a bettor is in doing multiple bets.
In conclusion, we score those users with a high number of accurate bets and bet sizes than those with a few good ones.
